The Cauldron and the Cross by ~janne-landet-poetry:iconjanne-landet-poetry:

I do not care who speaks to me,
As long as I can hear
The words of wrath and songs of doom
That's chiming in my ear.

Never mind who says them,
Or from where they come,
To some they're only mumblings,
They're screaming yet to some.

Though it is the Lady
Or perhaps the Father All,
I never cared for which it is
For whom I stand or fall.

In my ignorance, I'm blind,
The Holy call it loss,
I'm waiting for the union
Of the cauldron and the cross.

* * *

It seems to make no sense at all
How Gods can truly be
As human as they really are
In judging you and me.

The life you took for granted
Hangs by a spider thread,
You pray your God to keep you
Out of the Land of Dead.

And since you only prayed when you
Needed it the most,
Perhaps it's only fair your God
Should turn you to a ghost.

Hellfires and demons, or
Rebirth to pain and loss,
Forged into the union
Of the cauldron and the cross.

Very well written, I especially like:

And since you only prayed when you
Needed it the most,
Perhaps it's only fair your God
Should turn you to a ghost.

Great job!

^^ Thanks! (that line is reflected upon myself, I guess, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who keep still until I need something... "Hey God, can I have money?" "Hey Goddess, can I have love?" "Hey Lord, can I have a Mercedes Benz, lol?")

exactly, perhaps gods are just born from our need to have power

Yes, I do believe that's the bad side of it. It's a way of holding people down, and making them do what you want. I think that's how women became temptresses.
But also, I think there's a good side. I think religion is a symbol of hope, and we need that hope to keep us going through our lives. We need to believe something's coming after death, wether it's rebirth, heaven or whatever.
It's necessary, but dangerous, in a way.

One of my wishes is also that religion should become something personal - a relationship between a human and his or her god, and that all of the ground control (the heads of the different religions) are not a part of the chain.

I agree, all though I don't believe in one spesific thing, I'm more open for other things as well, as long as it brings balance and hope  Or I'm just crazy :p

Well, they have ground control too... I just want everyone to be free of that...
I just mean all religions in general. No one should be told what to believe.
