Literature Text

Grim Reaper, tell me:
Who's leaving today?
Did I hear you crying
As down they did lay?
Such glorious morning,
Such gloomy a chap,
Collecting the men's blood
And draining trees' sap,

Grim Reaper, tell me:
Why do you mourn?
Why are you weary
And why are you worn?
Come here, I'll give you
A pat on the back,
I'll try to make up for
The smiles that you lack,

Grim Reaper, tell me:
How do you cope
With guns at the ready,
The knife and the rope?
As men drain their cups
Poisined up to the brim,
I will make your day
Just a little less grim.
~To you it's another day
To me it's a grim reaping
Just another shooting star
Strung out on your wire...

~The Grim Reaper's an unfortunate guy. He has the worst job ever. And he's so sad.
